A woman was seriously injured and rushed to hospital after being thrown from her Vespa scooter following a collision with a car at the Capellen exit of the A6.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when a motorist stopped at a junction having just left the A6 motorway and wishing to turn towards the town of Capellen.
The driver assumed the Vespa was turning to join the motorway and pulled out, a grave error as the woman had no intention of turning.
A violent collision followed resulting in serious injuries to the rider.
Emergency services quickly arrived on scene and the victim was rushed to hospital.
