Luxembourg's Stock Exchange and University enter fintech partnership
The collaborative research project will explore and develop new ways to automate some of Luxembourg's Stock Exchange's operations, including document classification and indexing.

The Luxembourg Stock Exchange(LuxSE) and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) will work together on a fintech research project.
Representatives from the two institutions met earlier this week to formally sign the partnership framework agreement and announced they would develop new ways for harvesting information in documents and extract value-added intelligence from acquired data based on different artificial intelligence techniques.
The aim of the collaborative research project is to devise tailor-made techniques and solutions for LuxSE's automated document classification, smart document routing and processing activities.

Robert Scharfe, CEO of LuxSE, said in a statement that working with SnT was "a strategic cooperation" and "a new type of partnership", "a powerhouse blend" that would combine the expertise available at the stock exchange with SnT's scientific know-how.
The SnT Director Prof. Bjorn Ottersten, also explained that the collaborative research project would provide "clear and tangible benefits" for the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, primarily in automated document classification, indexing, and automated correction of manual inputs, for which the stock exchange doesn't have "off-the-shelf solutions".
"We are therefore excited to work together to address research and business challenges with a focused R&D approach. This requires research-oriented investigations, context adaptation and prototyping," Ottersten said in the statement.
