A major power cut hit Luxembourg right across the country on Sunday morning that lasted for exactly half an hour.
The outage was reported from just after 10am in Wasserbillig, Larochette, Echternach, Medernach, Mersch, Redange and Steinfort and a few others towns, and therefore extended right from the east to the west of the Grand Duchy.
According to the electricity network company Creos, the power cut was due a power line fault in Roost, slap-bang in the middle of the country.
Creos explained in a statement that the “supply interruption” took place from 10.02am at the Roost high-voltage substation feeding electricity at 220/65 kV.
The “techincal problem” as Creos described it, was restored exactly 30 minutes later at 10.32am.
