Despite the tightening of German borders, the influx of refugees remains high and Luxembourg is also touched be the extent of the refugee crisis, all be it at a less critical level that some other EU countries.
Since the beginning of the month 325 refugees have found their way to Luxembourg, 130 of them being single unattached people.
Among the newcomers are nine unaccompanied children, now seeking Luxembourg protection, confirmed Integration Minister Corinne Cahen in an interview with RTL.
Every day around 30 refugees arrive in Luxembourg with a large number of them coming from Syria and Iraq.
Meanwhile in Kirchberg, a reception centre for refugees is taking shape at the Luxexpo. Hall 6 which is empty, will soon have about 400 beds set up.
To enable people to have a touch of privacy tents will also be errected within the estimated 3,000 square metre hall and should be ready to welcome refugees in a few days as preparations are in full swing. Among other things, sanitation amineties are being finalised.
It was last week that Cahen announced that OLAI, the country's reception and integration office, will be increasing staff, while more than 100 government officials have reported to OLAI to provide assistance for the next six months.
