(JB) Firefighters were kept on their toes on Wednesday even before a storm swept through the country.
Hesperange firefighters attended a major car fire on the "Route de Thionville" at around 12.45pm. The flames were quickly brought under control but not before the car had been seriously damaged.
Later in the afternoon gale-force winds and torrential rain swept through the country, toppling a number of trees. Firefighters around Luxembourg responded to a total of 89 such cases.
In 11 incidents, a roof had been damaged by flying objects, and in five cases a tree had fallen on a vehicle, leaving one person injured.
Firefighters and emergency services responded to four flooding reports.
Altogether, emergency services responded to 110 incidents related to Wednesday's storm.
