(JB) It's that time of year again - the roads will get busier and the parks will be considerably quieter as thousands of children begin a new school year in Luxembourg on September 14 and 15.
Around 90,000 children and young people are expected to attend Luxembourg state schools this year, according to the Education Ministry.
Of that number, 47,188 will attend primary schools, which return on Tuesday, and 101 will attend private schools.
A total 41,112 students are enrolled in secondary schools, of which 38 are state schools and five private secondary schools. Secondary schools resume classes for the new school year on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, 37,390 young people are registered in state sixth form colleges or lycées, and 3,722 are in private high schools.
All private schools in Luxembourg began the new school year ahead of the state school system.
