An animated film directed by the Luxembourgish director whose film Mr Hublot won an Oscar in 2014 is to feature at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
Alexandre Espigares' 3D feature film, Croc-Blanc, is a co-production between Luxembourg, France and the US.
The Grand Duchy's share represented just over 40% of the total funding.
On Sunday, its world première was screened at Sundance – one of the world's most prestigious independent film festivals.
The animated feature film, which took three years to put together, is an official entry in the 'kids film' section.
Guy Daleiden, managing director at Film Fund Luxembourg, said Croc-Blanc showcased the "excellence of Luxembourgish cinema".
Espigares added: "To have a world première at Sundance allows Croc-Blanc to have international recognition alongside big films."
Croc-Blanc will première in Luxembourg on 9 March at thePhilharmonie as a live-cinema with the Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Gast Waltzing.
The film will be screened in Luxembourg from 28 March.
