The Circle Theater New York is in Luxembourg to perform its play "Strangers" at the Théâtre National du Luxembourg.
The performances, supported by the US Embassy in Luxembourg, are world premiers.
They will be staged at the small theatre in the Merl district of the City until 4 February.
The play takes place in the near future.
A fugitive arrives on an uninhabited island that has an unusual, almost paradoxical geography. Its structures are abandoned and in disrepair, it bears the marks of a hasty evacuation, and recent visitors are rumoured to have suffered from a strange, unknown disease.
According to the writers, 'Strangers' seeks to explore the themes of "connection, choice and mortality as they relate to modern threats of climate change, surveillance, the spread of disease and the fears of a rapidly shifting world".
The play is being performed in English at the Théâtre National du Luxembourg, located at 194 route de Longwy, on the following dates:
30 January – 8pm
1 February – 8pm
2 February – 8pm
4 February – 5pm
Tickets will cost €20 each and can be purchased in advance at the following link: www.luxembourg-ticket.lu
