One of the world's largest bitcoin exchanges, bitFlyer, launched its hub for the European Union in Luxembourg on 26 January, having been granted a payment-institution licence earlier this month. The Luxembourg Times met with co-founder and chief executive Yuzo Kano at the event and talked about the company's plans, the role of regulation and how investors should perceive cryptocurrencies.
