'Weaknesses and loopholes' in EU customs
Auditors visited Spain, Italy, Poland, Romania, UK
The Luxembourg-based European Court of Auditors (ECA) criticised "weaknesses and loopholes" in customs controls across the 28-nation Euroean Union (EU) on Tuesday.
"EU customs controls are not being applied effectively," the ECA said in a report. "This has an adverse effect on EU finances."
