A controversial glass walkway linking two Luxembourg city town hall buildings is expected to be finished before the end of the year.
Construction was due to be completed in September, however, complications related to the glazing of the footbridge pushed back the opening date.
The project, which was approved in April 2009, drew criticism from a number of residents, prompting the creation of a citizens' initiative to block its construction.
Critics say that the footbridge or “passerelle” is not in keeping with the surrounding architecture. Furthermore, they say it restricts the view from Place Guillaume II to Notre Dame cathedral.
