Luxembourgish nationality applications treble

Three times as many people make request to become Luxembourgish since 2017 reform

The number of people asking for Luxembourgish nationality has trebled since the new law making it easier to become a Luxembourger came into force in April last year.

From 1 April 2017 residency requirements were reduced from seven years to five and applicants have to pass a language test or complete accredited lessons before they can apply for citizenship.
