Jean Asselborn will face a lot of tasks in the next five years due to the many international crises. According to the government programme, his plan as immigration minister is also well filled. Concerning the refugee policy, changes are foreseen, writes Danielle Schumacher for the Luxembourg Times' sister publication Luxemburger Wort.
In his Christmas address, Grand Duke Henri explicitly lauded Luxembourg's diplomacy, the foremost target of which is maintaining peace, security and human rights. The coalition programme for the years 2018 to 2023 foresees this well. Other priorities are sustainability, the fight against poverty, climate change and the engagement for the equal treatment of men and women.
