Three new international schools opening in Luxembourg next year have been officially confirmed.
Education minister Claude Meisch announced on Friday the government council has now approved plans for an international school in Junglinster, Clervaux and Mondorf-les-Bains.
The superior council of European schools in Brussels has now given the green light.
Lënster Lycée in Junglinster will offer an English and German section for primary and secondary.
An English, French and German section will be introduced at the secondary school in Mondorf-les-Bains and will offer both primary and secondary education in all sections, except there will be no German primary section.
At Lycée Edward Steichen de Clervaux there will be a French and German section for secondary only initially, but a primary section is foreseen.
"Given the country's multilingual situation and the heterogeneity of the school population, this model responds very well to our needs," Meisch said.
Luxembourgish will also be taught at the schools, integrated into the curriculum and adapted to students' level.
