Kremlin warns Alexei Navalny against Russian election protest
Opposition politician has called for a boycott after being barred from running.

The Kremlin has warned opposition politician Alexei Navalny not to wage a protest campaign over his exclusion from presidential elections, in a reminder of the risks the he faces in his challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Navalny has been formally barred from standing for election by the Central Election Commission (CEC), which said on Monday that he was not eligible due to a criminal conviction.
