The US government remained closed on Sunday as Republicans and Democrats continued to blame each other for the shutdown while President Donald Trump called for a change in Senate rules to end the impasse.
With the Senate unable to reach the 60 votes needed to avert a government shutdown on Friday night, Trump tweeted that Republicans should resort to the ''nuclear option'' and allow legislation to pass with 51 votes.
