Ukraine, the chaos ensuing from Brexit, the wars in Syria and Yemen and Donald Trump as an uncertainty factor are only a few of the significant examples from the crisis-ridden year, 2018. Many of those conflicts will keep dominating the news cycle. They are an expression of the deep crisis of multilateralism, which has experienced a new dynamism since Donald Trump entered the White House.
The political scientist Eberhard Sandschneider ranks among the leading experts on international relations. Sandschneider was a guest lecturer of the University of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg School of Religion and Society. He is professor of Chinese politics and international relations at the Free University in Berlin.
